End of Boiling

The season‘s over here at Bennett Farm Maple. With our spouts pulled our season has officially concluded, it was a tough year with a lot of leak chasing. Things didn’t run as smoothly as we thought they would, but then again that’s just the way it goes on a small farm. We ended with a total of 51 hours of boiling and 670 gallons of syrup with a good amount of that being barreled to be sent to a larger distributor. We love what we do, but we’re also excited to not have the midnight alarms as well as early and late boils for a bit. That doesn’t mean the work is over, we’ve got a postseason deep clean of the Sugar House coming up. Speaking of the sugarhouse we will also be making a few improvements to decrease moisture accumulation there. Its not just inside work we will be in the woods again tending lines and getting things ready for next year‘s season all to provide you with the best pure Vermont maple syrup around.
