Ingredients:

For the Cookies:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1/4 cup pure maple syrup (preferably Robust)

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

For the Maple Icing:

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

2 tbsp milk

2 cups powdered sugar, sifted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until combined.

Scoop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool completely.

For the icing, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in maple syrup and milk until smooth.

Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar until a thick glaze forms. Let it cool for a few minutes to thicken slightly.

Spoon or spread glaze over cooled cookies and let it set before serving.
